Ingredients

20 mins
12,14 pakode
  • 1/2 Cupbesan/gram flour
  • 2Big onions Sliced
  • 2 Tbsprice flour/chawal ka ata
  • 1 Tbspfine semolina
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1/4 Tspturmeric
  • 1/2 Tspred chilli powder
  • 1/8 Tspasafoetida
  • 1/4 Tspajwain/carom seeds
  • 1 pinchbaking soda (optional)
  • 1 cupchopped palak / spinach
  • As RequiredWater to bind
  • As neededOil to deep fry

Steps

  1. 1

    At first In a bowl, start mixing dry ingredients. Add besan. Add rava and rice flour Add salt.

  2. 2

    Add red chilli powder, turmeric and hing. Mix well
    Add ajwain and mix well
    Add a pinch of baking soda. Mix well till combined. Mix and keep aside

  3. 3

    In a bigger bowl add onion slices
    To this, add the dry mixture, add palak. Mix well till besan mixture coats all onion slices
    Add a couple of tbsp of water. Mix well. Bind it all together

  4. 4

    Heat oil on low-medium flame. Make small lemon sized balls with the onion mixture. Slowly drop into heated oil. Repeat for a few more pakodas
    Fry on medium flame till golden
    Remove from oil and put pakoras on kitchen paper towels to drain off excess oil.

  5. 5

    Pakodas are ready to Serve.
