Steps

In a large pan or kadai, heat ghee and roast besan and semolina on low flame.

Stir continuously till the besan combines well without any lumps.

Keep roasting on low flame till the mixture turns like a paste and slowly turns aromatic.

After 20-25 minutes, the mixture turns golden brown indicating the besan has cooked completely. Keep it aside.

Now in another pan take sugar and water. Dissolve sugar completely. Allow to cook for 7-8 minutes on medium heat. check for 1 string consistency of the sugar syrup.

Now transfer the prepared sugar syrup over besan mixture. (keeping the flame off) stir well making sure the sugar syrup gets mixed uniformly and thickens. Also add cardamom powder and mix well.

Grease a tray with ghee and spread the gram flour mixture with the help of a spoon. Add chopped almonds and cardamom powder. Keep it set for 2 to 3 hours.

Cut into square pieces and serve.
