I already shared the recipe of rajasthani khoba roti which goes perfect with panchmel dal and today I'm gonna share the recipe of that delicious dal. Very easy to make but full of nutrients and it will surely satisfy your tastebuds.

Mix and Wash the dal properly.Pressure cook the dal for 2 whistle on medium flame with little salt and a slit green chilli.

In a small bowl take the ginger- garlic and green chilli paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and mix with 1/2 cup of hot water. Keep it aside.

In a kadai heat 2 tblspn ghee or oil. Add 1 t spn of cumin seeds, 1 t spn of musterd seeds and two dried red chilli and bay leaves. Let it splutter. Add chopped onion. Fried a little then add the chopped tomato.

Now add the pre mixed spices and cook on low to medium heat till the raw smell gone. When the tomatoes become soften and you can see the oil releasing from the side add the boiled dal. Add water and salt as required and cook it for 5 to 7 mins on medium flame.

Now add garam masala powder, chopped coriander leaves and switch off the flame. You also can add crushed kasouri methi.

Now for heat 2 tblspn ghee with 2 dried red chilli and 1 tspn cumin seeds. Add this onto the dal. It will enhance the flavour but you can skip this step.

Finally your panchmel dal is ready to serve.
