Heat an eartherware pot with 2tbsp oil and tip in curry leaves and when the aroma floats in the air add crushed shallots, ginger, garlic and green chillies and saute for a minute.
- 5
Then tip in chilli powder, turmeric powder and then add roasted fenugreek powder and saute till 30secs.
- 6
Pour a cup of water +tamarind pieces along with tamarind soaked water and let it come to a boil.Add in fish pieces and cook on low flame for 10 mins or till the gravy reduces a bit and becomes thick and also dark in color.lastly sprinkle pepper powder some more curry leaves.
- 7
Swicth off the flame and pour coconut oil from the sides of the pot in a circular motion.

Tastes better the next day.
