Steps

Soak dal and kidney beans for 7 - 8 hours. Boil it with a glass of milk and glass of water. Make a puree of onion, green chillis, garlic and ginger together but tomato puree made separate of all those.

Heat a pan. Add oil and 1 tsp butter to it. Add cumin seeds. cook it for 30 sec and add onion puree to it and cook it until golden brown in colour.

Then add tomato puree to it. And cook it for 2 minutes thereafter add spices to it like coriander powder, red chilli as per your taste (don't forget we add green chilli too), Dal makhni masala, garam masala and salt to it.

Cook it until oil releases. Then add butter to it (except 1 tsp because we need later again). And cook it for 1 minute. Then boiled dal to it. And give it a gentle mix. Cook it for at least 5-7 minutes.

Continue stir in between cooking. If dal looks very thick then add some boiled water to it. After 5-7 minutes add 2 tsp of fresh cream to it and again cook it for 1 minute. Take another pan. Add butter to it.when get hot then add a bay leaf and dry red chilli to it. Give a quick mix and pour it on top of our dal makhni.
