Wash dal properly and add in cooker add one chopped tomato and 1 glass water cover the lid and boil the dal up to 3 whistle on high flame. Let the cooker cool down. Now whisk dal add dry masala like turmeric, red chilli and dry coriander and cumin powder,ginger garlic paste.

Now take one tadka pan add chopped garlic and mustard seeds, add oil keep it on flame let mustard seeds little crackle add cumin seeds and sliced green chilli, curry leaves in tadka mix well let garlic turned brown.

Now add asafoetida mix well and pour tadka in the dal. Now boil the dal on flame upto 8 to 10 minutes. Serve with hot rice.
