Steps
- 1
Sift the all-purpose flour into a bowl, add yogurt and baking powder, and mix well. Gradually add water to make a thick batter, then mix in two drops of yellow food coloring.
- 2
In a pot, heat water and add sugar to make a syrup. Once the sugar dissolves, add saffron strands and lemon juice, stirring until the syrup reaches a single-thread consistency, then turn off the heat.
- 3
Heat oil in a pan. Pour the batter into a piping bag or a plastic bag, seal the top, and cut a small hole in one corner. Pipe the batter into the hot oil in circular shapes to form jalebis.
- 4
Once one side is cooked, flip to cook the other side. Remove from oil and dip the jalebis in the syrup, ensuring they are well-coated, then place them on a plate.
- 5
The jalebis are ready. Serve hot with yogurt.
