Ingredients

  1. 1 cupRaw rice
  2. 1 cupBoiled rice
  3. 1/4 cupUrdh dhal
  4. 1/4 cupCoconut small pieces
  5. 10Peppers
  6. 5Green chillies, chopped
  7. 1 tbspCoriander leaves
  8. 2 tbspCarrot (scraped 2tbs)
  9. 2 tbspGram dal (soaked)
  10. to tasteSalt
  11. 2 tbspCoconut oil
  12. 10Cashew nuts (cut into pieces) (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    Soak the rice, urdh dal for 4 hours.

    Grind as the texture of idli batter.

  3. 3

    Mix with salt, coconut pieces, soaked dhal, coriander leaves, chilli, carrot, pepper. Mix well and keep overnight.

    Keep a pan, add 2tbsp coconut oil, splutter some mustard seed, curry leaves, add with batter, grease the cake pan, pour the batter and steam.

    The masala idli is ready to serve with plain coconut chutney.
