Wash and soak the dal for 3 hours and grind to a smooth paste with minimum water

Add green chillies, salt, crushed jeera and black pepper, add baking soda and beat well till it's frothy add 2 tbsp hot water while beating

Heat oil in a pan, with wet hands drop the wadas in the oil,when they swell, reduce heat to medium and turn the side fry till golden brown. Drain and keep aside

Boil 5 cups of water with 2 tsp salt. Off the flame and the wadas, soak for 5 mins. Press out water lightly and arrange the wadas in a plate

Beat the curds with sugar till smooth. Pour the curds on the wadas. Garnish with red chilli powder, jeera powder, imli chutney,chopped coriander leaves and extra beaten curds
