Ingredients

35 minutes
4 bowls
  1. 1large can pinto beans, whole
  2. 3.5 ozbacon (about 100 grams)
  3. 3.5 ozsmoked sausage (about 100 grams)
  4. 3.5 ozMexican chorizo (about 100 grams)
  5. 1/4onion, diced medium
  6. 2small serrano peppers
  7. Cilantro, to taste
  8. 2 cupswater (about 480 ml)
  9. 2 cupschicken broth (about 480 ml)

Steps

  1. 1

    In a hot skillet, add the bacon cut into small pieces along with the sausage and onion, also cut up (do not add oil).

  2. 2

    In a separate pot, heat the beans straight from the can along with the water and chicken broth over low heat.

    Once the bacon, sausage, and onion are well cooked, add them to the pot with the beans and stir gently.

  4. 4

    Right after removing the ingredients from the skillet, add the chorizo (no oil) and cook it. Once cooked, add it to the pot with the other ingredients.

  5. 5

    Increase the heat a little, chop the peppers and remove their seeds, add the cilantro, and if needed, a little salt.

  6. 6

    Let it heat up and come to a boil, then turn off the heat. Serve and enjoy!
