Steps

Wash and soak basmati rice.

Heat 2 tbsp oil and add cloves,cinnamon,cardamom,cashews, washed masoor dal to it. Then add the sliced onions, methi leaves and saute it.

Add the salt, ginger garlic paste,black pepper powder and mix well. Then add the water to it.

When the water starts boiling add the mint leaves, coriander leaves,green chilli and soaked basmati rice.

Cook till the water evaporates. Cover the lid and leave till steam comes from the edges of the lid. This indicates khichdi is ready
- 6
Side dish for this recipe is pyaaz anda ka salaan or any raita
