Caterpillar rava idli
Steps
- 1
Take rava, curd and salt in mixing bowl. Add water as required depending on curd thickness.
Give a good mix and allow it to soak for 2 hours. - 2
After 2 hours mix well and add water if required. Get to an idli batter consistency.
Just before steaming add baking soda and mix vigourosly till it turns frothy. - 3
Pour the batter to an idli maker and steam it covered for 15 minutes on medium flame.
- 4
Furthermore, allow it to rest for 2-3 minutes then unmould. Arrange idlis on a plate making to look like caterpillar. I have used peanuts to make eyes, lemon skin for mouth and stem of curry leaves on the top.
Finally, serve hot with chutney and sambhar.
