Cooking Instructions

Wash rice and grind it to a coarse powder. Don't grind it to a fine powder.

Add coarsely ground rice, water and 1/4 litre milk to a pressure cooker.

Cook till the rice becomes mushy.

Add remaining milk and boil it.
- 5
Add sugar and mix it well till it gets dissolved completely.

After some times the malai forms as a layer on top and becomes thick.

At last add cardamom powder and switch off the stove.

Heat kadai. Add ghee and cashews. Fry till the cashews turn to golden brown colour.

Add fried cashews with ghee to that pal payasam.
- 10
Garnish with badam. Pal payasam is ready to serve hot or cold.
