Masala Chaas | Spiced Buttermilk
Cooking Instructions

Take a blender. Add chopped mint leaves(1/4 cup), chopped coriander leaves(5 grams) & green chilli to the blender.

Grind it for 6 to 8 seconds.

Then add curd, water(1 cup), roasted cumin powder(2 tsp), black pepper powder(1 tsp), salt & black salt into it.

Grind them for 30 seconds. After blend add water. Pour the blended curd in a big pot.

Take a Churner and churn it for few seconds. After Churn pour it into glasses.

Sprinkle roasted cumin powder & black pepper powder on the top of the drink(buttermilk).

Garnish with mint and coriander leaves. Then ready to serve.

I personally like a sour taste in my chaas drink and I have used sour curd for the same. alternatively, you can use non-sour curd or fresh curd and control the sourness by adding lemon juice as per your taste. secondly, you can easily extend the recipe by adding other spices and herbs as per your taste. you can add coriander leaves, hing and also temper with mustard and jeera seeds. lastly, you can prepare it and store it in the fridge for a day or two. but make sure to blend it for 30 seconds before serving to get the extra frothy texture Jyoti Prakash Assudani -
