Steps

Wash toor dal in running water and Soak dal in water for 15 minutes

Wash, peel and grate onion Tomato and ginger.

Put dal in pressure cooker with onion Tomato paste. Add salt and turmeric powder.

Add 1 glass water in pressure cooker and place the lid and cook till 4-6 whistles and switch off the flame. Let pressure releases automatically

Open the lid and stir dal and transfer it in a pan.

Heat oil in a tadka pan. Add asafoetida and immediately add cumin seeds.

When cumin seeds splutter red chilli powder and whole red chilli. Pour this Tadka on dal.

Simmer on low flame till tadka mix up with dal. Add chopped coriander leaves.

Nutritious toor dal is ready to serve. It goes well with rice.
