Firstly rinse the lentils very well. Add lentils in the pressure cooker with water. Add green chilli, salt and turmeric powder to it.

Stir and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles till the dal has completely cooked.

Mash the dal with whisk and add coriander leaves to it. Keep the cooked dal aside.

FOR TADKA - Heat ghee and add cumin seeds and hing.

Then add garlic and onion and saute till it become light brown.

Then add tomatoes and saute till they become soft. Then add red chilli powder to it. Mix well

Pour this tadka in the cooked dal. And stir the dal for 5-6minutes till it becomes slightly thick.

Serve dal hot with rice or jeera rice with roasted papad and a pickle or salad.
