Mom's sweetest surprise- Rasgulla payesh (Rasgulla kheer)
Want to know how to take Rasgulla to the next level? Here is a recipe (check my next post on Baked Rasgulla...coming soon)
Steps
- 1
Boil the milk on medium flame and add sugar. Keep stirring constantly. Boil till it reduces to half the quantity and has a thick consistency.
- 2
Squeeze out the sugar syrup from the Rasgullas so that these can soak up the awesomeness of the kheer.
- 3
Break the Rasgullas into halves and add them to the milk. Boil for 5 mins on low heat
- 4
Take a pinch of saffron and soak it in tablespoon of lukewarm milk to get the desired golden colour
- 5
Add the saffron extract and pistachios before putting off the flame
- 6
Add some strands of saffron and chopped pistachios before serving. Enjoy the kheer warm or chilled...choice is yours!
