Fenugreek or methi the aromatic green leafy vegetable is not only delicious in taste but is a warehouse of many benefits. It reduces blood sugar levels, cholestrol leves and inflammation. Apart from this it has a lot of fibers, iron, calcium and many other vitamins and minerals.
A lot of recipes are famous in India using methi leaves like methi parathas, puris, matthis, pulao, subzis, curries, dals etc.
However, lot of times children refuse to eat this healthy green leafy vegetable. So I have incorporated this amazing vegetable in Aloo tikki and made a burger out of it.
It is a lip smacking recipe and everyone will enjoy eating it.

Steps
- 1
For the aloo methi tikki, heat oil in a pan. Add the jeera and hing. Once jeera turns golden add ginger and green chilies.
- 2
Add the onions and saute till translucent. Add red chili powder, haldi, dhaniya powder, salt and garam masala. Mix well.
- 3
Add the washed methi leaves and cook till is well cooked and all the water is evaporated. It takes approximately 4-5 minutes.
- 4
Add the boiled and mashed potatoes and chaat masala. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- 5
Remove the mixture in a bowl and let it cool down to room temperature.
Now add the powdered poha and cornflour. Mix well. - 6
Divide the mixture in 4 portions and make patties. Heat oil in a pan to shallow fry the tikkis. Fry the tikkis till golden brown on both sides. Remove from the pan and keep aside.
- 7
To make the burgers, cut the burger buns horizontally. Heat some butter on a tawa and roast the burger buns with the cut side down.
- 8
Take the bottom part, apply some mint chutney and mayonnaise. mix it well. Top it up with a leave of lettuce.
- 9
Place a aloo methi tikki on top of the lettuce. Top it up with onions and tomato slices.
- 10
Spread some ketchup on the roasted part of the top half of the bun. place it on the tomatoes. If you want you can secure it with a toothpick.
Aloo methi burger is ready. - 11
Enjoy this delicious burger with your favorite drink. For me it was a steaming mug of ginger green tea.
