Ham and Shiso Gyoza Skin Wraps

I love fried food with cheese inside of it, but it's a bit of a pain to wrap it up and the frying oil is a pain to deal with. So, I tried coming up with an easy-to-roll pan-fried wrap.
Try out variations such as adding cheese or using spring roll wrappers. Recipe by Mi- mama

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cut the shiso leaves and ham slices in half.
- 2
Top the gyoza skins with ham and shiso.
- 3
Roll them up thinly.
- 4
Heat a generous amount of oil in a frying pan. You can also deep-fry them if you like I think preparing the frying pot is a bit of a pain, so I pan-fry them up like this.
- 5
Pan-fry them in a good amount of oil, rolling them around to make all the sides crispy.
- 6
Once they turn light brown like this, they're ready.
- 7
These are delicious as-is, but the flavor is subtle, so try them with some ketchup. The shiso leaves give these a really pretty cross-section.
- 8
Besides ham, you can also make these with chikuwa and shiso.
- 9
It's a great side dish for dinner.
- 10
These are also great in a bento If you cut them in half, they take up a surprising amount of space, so I recommend them.

Chicken Gyoza with Shiso & Shio-Koji Chicken Gyoza with Shiso & Shio-Koji
This is just a recipe that I came up with on a whim.Even a mix of thigh and breast meat would taste delicious in these gyoza. If you use just chicken breast instead of chicken thigh, the gyoza will taste a bit firmer. This recipe uses a lot of meat. You can reduce the amount of meat and increase the amount of vegetables if you'd prefer. Recipe by Yuuyuu0221 cookpad.japan -

Handmade Gyoza Skins Handmade Gyoza Skins
I didn't have any gyoza skins on hand, but I wanted to make"Deep Fried Gyoza Dumplings", so I made them myself!I didn't have much time, so I didn't rest the dough.Adjust the amount of hot water slightly. It's important to make the dough rather soft in order to skip the resting time!Cover the dough while it's waiting with a wrung-out moistened cloth to prevent it from drying out.The skins don't stick together, so I don't think you need any flour for dusting. Handmade Spring Roll Wrappers and Gyoza Skins Handmade Spring Roll Wrappers and Gyoza Skins
I think this homemade skin/wrapper is more bouncy and chewy than storebought. It's fun to make with the kids, you can make memories as well as delicious things together. If it's difficult or just a bother to roll the the gyoza skins out so they're round, you can roll out the dough in a large piece and cut it out with a cookie cutter or something similar (like the lid of a container). I've never done it that way myself, but I've seen it done on TV in that fashion. The key is to keep rolling out the dough until you think you can't possibly roll it thinner.
