Fried Tofu (Aburaage) Appetizers with Shiso, Bacon, and Cheese

I made this from what I had in my refrigerator. It was so good I thought I would share the recipe.
The sandwich is delicious as is, but you can add ponzu or gelée sauce to it as you like for a different flavour.
Instead of bacon, try ham or wiener sausages. You can use different ingredients.
You can use melting sliced cheese instead of shredded cheese if you prefer. Recipe by EnjoyKitchen.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Using kitchen shears, cut 3 edges of the aburaage open, leave the fourth (long side) attached. Open the aburaage and lay two shiso leaves on top.
- 2
On top of the shiso leaves, lay the bacon and cheese. Close the aburaage up again like a sandwich.
- 3
Toast both sides of the filled aburaage from Step 2 in a nonstick pan. It's best to cook it slowly over medium heat.
- 4
You can also toast the sandwich in a toaster oven. Place the sandwich on a toaster oven tray, and cook for 5-10 minutes for a perfectly done snack. Aim for a lightly browned surface.

I made it with a beef and pork mix, but you can use tsukune dumpling mix made with ground chicken, or a tofu burger mix. I recommend both. For 2. Recipe by to* cookpad.japan -

For Inari, abura-age is simmered and seasoned very sweet. Some may think it's too sweet but the sweetness of abura-age makes Inari Sushi the perfect taste. Soak abura-age in the sweet sauce as long as possible and don't squeeze too much. Rie -
A Springtime Dish: Cabbage and Tuna Stuffed Abura-age Fried Tofu A Springtime Dish: Cabbage and Tuna Stuffed Abura-age Fried Tofu
This can be made quickly and easily, so I make it often for dinner. Have fun varying the fillings, such as natto, sliced onions, bonito flakes, and so on.I reduce the cooking time by pouring boiling water over the chopped cabbage. Since it is finely chopped, it cooks through pretty well, so you just need to brown the aburaage later, which will heat the pockets through to the center. For 8 pieces. Just Tofu Homemade Aburaage Just Tofu Homemade Aburaage
I really, really wanted to make the "takoyaki-sized inari sushi" that I saw at a department store. If you don't do it right, they turn out like a tough sponge. I've been down that road before. For best results, use pure and firm tofu.I referred to many websites for inspiration. You must fry one slice to test. Unfortunately, if it doesn't spread out, then you can't make aburaage. Use the tofu for other dishes like mapo tofu. Recipe by Motokuma cookpad.japan
