Ingredients

  1. 2 CupsGram flour (Besan)
  2. 3/4 TeaspoonCarom seeds
  3. to tasteSalt
  4. 1Medium sized Onion finely chopped
  5. 1/2 Cupfinely grated Carrot
  6. 2 Tablespoonchopped Cilantro
  7. 3 TablespoonGreen capsicum finely chopped
  8. 2 Teaspoonchopped Ginger
  9. 1Finely chopped Green chilli
  10. 1 cupwater
  11. 4 Teaspoonoil

Cooking Instructions

    To a bowl add gram flour, carom seeds and salt. Mix the ingredients.

    Add chopped onion, grated carrot, chopped cilantro, chopped green capsicum, chopped ginger and chopped green chili.

    Add water little by little at same time whisk continuously to form a batter not runny but of pouring consistency.

    Heat a iron tawa on medium heat. Once it is hot, take a ladle full of the batter and pour it on hot tawa. Move the ladle in circular motion to spread the batter on the tawa. Pour 1/2 teaspoon oil around the edges of the chilla and few drops on its top. Cook for 2 minutes and then flip.

    Press with a spatula and similarly cook other side for 2 minutes on medium flame. Once cooked from both sides, remove chilla from the tawa.

    Make all besan chilla in similar way. Serve with tomato ketchup.
