Easy Italian Omu-Rice

I spotted some of the new workers in my company eating delicious-looking omu-rice at lunchtime and that got me craving it. I had some leftover tomato sauce, so tried making omu-rice with it, and this was the result.
You don't have to wrap the omelets around rice in this recipe, just place them on top, so there's no fear of messing up Using tomato sauce allows you to create a dish that tastes great and looks very stylish, without having to use lots of ingredients and seasonings If you accidentally tear a hole in the omelets, don't worry - you can just cover them with tomato sauce and nobody will be any the wiser. Cooking Instructions
- 1
Mince the onion, and slice the wiener sausages into small rounds.
- 2
Fry the onion and wiener sausages in 1 tablespoon of butter, seasoning with salt and pepper. Using butter adds great flavor to the dish, but you can use vegetable oil if preferred.
- 3
Add the cooked white rice and season with salt and pepper once more. Fry, mixing so that the onion and wieners are evenly distributed throughout the rice.
- 4
Add 4 tablespoons of tomato sauce, and mix evenly throughout the rice while continuing to fry.
- 5
Tightly pack 1/2 the rice into a rice bowl or other dish/mold.
- 6
Turn out onto a plate. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 in the same way for the 2nd serving. I made mine in heart-shapes this time.
- 7
Beat an egg thoroughly, adding the milk, salt, and pepper as desired. Melt some butter in a frying pan, pour in the egg mixture, and top with 1 slice of cheese.
- 8
When half-way cooked, turn off the heat and place the omelet on top of the plated rice. Make a 2nd omelet in the same way, and use it to cover the 2nd portion of rice.
- 9
Heat the remainder of the tomato sauce.
- 10
Once heated, pour a generous amount over both rice-stuffed omelets, and garnish with a sprinkling of parsley.
- 11
I use the tomato sauce pictured.

For Omurice ~ Chicken Rice For Omurice ~ Chicken Rice
Stir-fried ketchup rice is high in calories, so I always make it in the rice cooker. My son likes strong flavors, so I always add a little ketchup to the rice when it's done. I sometimes make omurice, but my son prefers the egg mixed in.This time I used ham, but if you are using chicken, slice it into small pieces, season it with salt and pepper, and cook it with the rice in the rice cooker. Green pepper browns when cooked, so I stir-fry half the amount and add it at the end for a nice, colorful finish. Of course, you can just cook it all in the rice cooker if you want! Omurice with Well-Flavoured Chicken Rice Omurice with Well-Flavoured Chicken Rice
I wanted to eat the omurice with well-flavoured ketchup rice...Using a rice cooker tends to make the rice taste mild, but with this recipe it'll be well-seasoned. So it's great cooled to pack in your bento.Make sure you mix the ingredients before cooking ー If you don't mix well and the ketchup has lumps, it will scorch. You can also use Japanese worcestershire sauce! I used wiener sausages this time. But if you want to cook proper chicken rice, use 100 g of chicken seasoned with a little salt and pepper. You can omit the garlic powder if you wish.Cook the rice on the normal setting, and not the quick mode otherwise the rice will be on the firm side.
