Ingredients

30 minutes
4 people
  • 4-5boneless chicken thighs or chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cupflour
  • 1 tbspcorn starch
  • 1 tspblack pepper
  • 1 tsponion powder
  • 1/2 tspginger powder
  • 1/2 tspsalt
  • 1 tsppaprika
  • Canola oil for frying
  • Orange Chicken Sauce
  • 3/4 cuporange juice (I used 3 Oranges)
  • 1 1/2 tbspcorn starch
  • 2 tbspvegetable oil
  • 3 tbspsoy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tbsprice vinegar
  • 2 tbspbrown sugar
  • 1/2 tspgrated ginger
  • 1/2 tbspminced garlic
  • 1/2 tspblack pepper
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sesame seeds for topping (optional)
  • 1orange (zested)

Steps

30 minutes

    Dice the chicken into 1/2 inch pieces and place in a bowl. Add in the flour, corn starch, salt, black pepper, onion powder, paprika, and ginger powder to coat the chicken.

    In a deep drying pan, bring the oil to medium-high heat. Fry the chicken until golden brown. Takes about 2-3 minutes.

    Meanwhile, whisk all the sauce ingredients and a bowl. Transfer to a hot skillet or frying pan and cook on low-heat, simmering until the sauce thickens up.

    Transfer the fried chicken to the sauce and mix to coat well. Let the sauce and chicken simmer together for 1-2 minutes and then remove from heat.

    Serve with white rice. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions. (optional)

I get to share my recipes with others.8. Making memories.9. It's a continuous learning process.10. Cheaper than eating out.11. It saves the expenses.12. Makes me a happier person.13.
