Ingredients

  1. 200 gurad daal (split toor daal)
  2. 100 gmchanna daal (bengal gram daal)
  3. 1onion (finely chopped)
  4. 1tomato (finely chopped)
  5. 1/2stem ginger (finely chopped)
  6. 4-5garlic pod (finely chopped)
  7. 4-5green chili (slit)
  8. 2eggs (scrambled)
  9. Spices:
  10. 2-3 tbspcumin powder
  11. 2-3 tbspcoriander powder
  12. 2-3 tbspred chili powder
  13. 2 tbspgaram masala powder (can use whole cloves/cinnamon/cardamom)
  14. 4-5 tbspkasauri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  15. 1 tbsp methi (fenugreek)seeds
  16. 2tbsp butter

Cooking Instructions

    Pressure cook the lentil/daal with 2-3cups water.

    Put some oil in a pan and add in the methi seeds.Fry the onion/tomatoes/ginger/garlic/chillies along with methi seeds.Gradually add in the spice mix (cumin,coriander,garam masala) and sauté well till the oil separates.

    Add in the boiled lentils at this stage and stir well.Mix with the scrambled egg and garnish with kasauri methi leaves and a dollop of ghee/butter. The aromatic tadka ready to eat and goes well with naan/kulcha/parathaa.
