Fried stuffed tofu (Vegetarian)

Another vendor market snack that I love back home. We used fried tofu for this, stuffed with vegetables (and chillies if you like spicy). and fried them. One would not be enough.
I bought the fried tofu in asian supermarket. If you cant find it, you can used white firm tofu, but you need to fried this till brown first, which is a lot of worked in my opinion.
Note: if you used to make fish n chip, I bet you can used that battered instead, if its easier for you.

  4. 4

Prepare wok/pan with lots of oil. We need to deep fried this. Put 1 tofu into the batter, making sure all covered. put into oil with the open side in bottom. Try not to turn till the other side is bit brown, then turn the other side. do this till both side looks crispy.

This is yummy to eat on its own, or with peanut sauce (see recipe in my cookpad), or just with thai red chillies (if you can handle it :p)

Whether it's a spoonful of sugar or a handful of cabe (chillies), it can only make your food (or live) more exciting. The little Indonesian girl in me reminisces about the spicy flavors of home. Dishes such as Nasi goreng and rendang, transport me 7000 miles back to my home in Jakarta.Arriving in UK, I felt lost. Finding foods that I missed could be quite a challenge. That’s when my culinary journey started. It's far from perfect, and just a guide, use and make them your own. I hope it would help you, as it help me.
