I wanted to make endives with ham, but since I had a sheet of puff pastry about to expire, here we go...

Place the butter and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar in the baking dish.

Cut the endives in half and remove the core to reduce bitterness. Place them in the dish, sprinkle with the remaining brown sugar, add the 2 slices of ham and the shredded cheese, then cover with the puff pastry sheet.

Bake for 55 minutes at 410°F (210°C).
