In a pan add oil when it is hot add urad dal, Coarinder seeds and red chilli. Saute until golden brown.

Wash and cut the brinjal into medium sized pieces.

In a pan add oil add the brinjal, tamarind and saute for a few minutes.

After it is cooled down grind everything into a fine paste by adding salt and hing.

Goes well with hot rice, idli,dosa and Pongal
