One of the popular everyday side dishes of Hyderabad City. This is such an interesting recipe much similar to the Baghare Baingan, the most sought after side dish that goes well with both Rice and Rotis. The only difference being that it has Mutton Bone-in and even Potatoes. Creamy and absolutely lipsmacking with Peanuts, Sesame Seeds and Dry Coconut. But in this particular fusion, i have used Dabur Coconut Milk instead of the dry one. And that made all the difference. It became more creamier and resulted in a luscious Gravy. And apart from this, Tamarind is being added to make it sour. And therefore it's a lovely immunity booster dish that can be prepared at home very easily and very often too. Tamarind is rich in Vitamin C. This is one such plant of which all it's parts are used and is of immense medicinal benefits. It is widely known to have effectiveness as anti asthma. It also has antioxidants that helps a person's immune system to improve. It's rich in Zinc and Magnesium that improves vision, boosts respiratory health and heal various skin conditions.

Steps

35-40 minutes
  1. 1

First of all, shallow fry the sliced Onions in a teaspoon of oil until translucent. Keep aside. Meanwhile also roast Peanuts and Sesame Seeds. Grind all of them into a fine paste.

  2. 2

In a Pressure cooker, heat Oil. Add Cumin Seeds and Black Seeds. After they splutter, add in the Curry Leaves. Now add the cleaned and washed Mutton Bone-in pieces to it. Fry for a minute or two. Now add the Ginger garlic paste. Saute again for about 2 minutes.

  3. 3

Add the rest of the spices mentioned. After 5 minutes of sauteeing, pressure cook for 6 to 7 whistles or as required. Let the pressure settle down before opening the lid.

  4. 4

Add the semi solid paste now and saute it on a low heat until the Oil starts separating. Also add thick juice squeezed from the soaked tamarind. Cook until the raw smell fades away. Add deep fried potato cubes about 2 cups too at this stage if using. Otherwise it's almost done.

  5. 5

Adjust salt according to taste. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and slit green chillies. Also adjust the consistency too. It's a semi thick gravy. Neither too thin nor too thick.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
