I thought up this snack because I wanted my daughter, who is in the midst of weaning, to be able to easily eat something nutritious on a hot day.

Step 5: If you place the milk mixture into the refrigerator while still warm, the milk and kabocha will separate. Wait until the formula has cooled and thickened before putting into the refrigerator to chill and harden. Recipe by Miyuki921

Ingredients

3 servings
  1. 100 gramsKabocha squash
  2. 200 mlBaby formula
  3. 5 gramsGelatin powder

Steps

  1. 1

    Completely dissolve the gelatin powder in 50 ml of hot water.

  2. 2

    Remove the skin from the kabocha and cut into pieces. Microwave to soften (I microwaved at 600 W for 3 minutes)

  3. 3

    Mash the kabocha in a blender or pass through a strainer.

  4. 4

    Combine the formula, Step 1, and Step 3 in a bowl and place over a bowl of ice water. Mix with a whisk.

  5. 5

    When the mixture has become cooled and thick, pour into a container and chill it in the refrigerator so that it hardens.

  6. 6

    This hardness is perfect for babies who are in the middle of eating solids.
