Core and peel your apples Half each apple and make 1/4 inch slices. Try to make as even as possible to insure even cooking

Place apple slices in a large bowl and add a tablespoon of lemon juice. Stir so the apples are covered.

Add 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/4 cup of flour and 1/4 stick of melted butter. Mix gently but thoroughly

Place apple mix into pie shell. Make it higher than the shell as the apples will shrink with the heat

Now to make the crumble mix into a bowl 1 cup of flour, 1/3 cup of fine white sugar, 1/3 cup of brown sugar, and 1/2 stick of melted butter. Mix gently and don’t over stir. You want it to have chunky pieces to create the crumble

Place the crumble over the top of the apples and try to cover them entirely. When finished I like to add a slight dusting of cinnamon to the top.

Place pie into a preheated oven of 375 degrees for 60 minutes. The pie will probably be dripping it’s juices but that’s a good thing. If more tender apples are your preference continue cooking for another 10-20 minutes. Just look at the top crumble. The darker the top the softer the inside

Cool and serve. Remember the warmer the better
