Party Hors d'Oeuvres Pinchos Party Hors d'Oeuvres Pinchos
I was put in charge of making hors d'oeuvres for our potluck New Year's party, so I made these. There were tons of other dishes on the table, so I made them compact and colorful. They were perfect for enjoying in a big noisy crowd. If you want the pinchos to stand up straight, instead of skewering everything on the picks before lining them up, place the component that will be on the bottom on the serving plate first, skewer all the other components, then stick the pick through the element on the plate. This way they are far less likely to fall over. The component on the bottom should be something flat and/or stable. For 6 servings. Recipe by Banirapurin cookpad.japan -

Picadillo Pizza Meal Picadillo Pizza Meal
You can add olives if you like one of my granddaughters doesn't care for cooked olives. Also can serve with white or yellow rice instead of mashed potatoes. My other granddaughters doesn't like mashed but they were not here but with their mom. So mashed it was! skunkmonkey101 -

Patatas bravas Patatas bravas
Patatas bravas--crispy potatoes served with a spicy, paprika-forward tomato sauce--are standard fare at any tapas restaurant. As simple as they are to make (and they really, really are simple), there's a lot of variation in the method. The recipe below includes my personal preferences. I use mini creamer potatoes, first because I like the texture, and second because they're easier to prep (i.e. just cut 'em in half). Next, I shallow fry my patatas. Again, this is for simplicity. I see no reason to pull out the deep fryer just to crisp up a few potatoes. Lastly, I like to mix a little mayo into the bravas sauce. I find it rounds out the flavour. Of course you can omit this step, or serve the mayo separately (or better yet, make homemade spicy aioli). However you make them, patatas bravas make for a delicious starter to a meal. Baby Scallop Tapas Baby Scallop Tapas
I came up with this recipe when I was thinking of a dish with crispy-fried bacon (made from fatty pork belly). The crispy-fried bacon brings out the lovely flavor of the baby scallops, and they turned into a delicious appetizer. This is an easy recipe that you can make in just 10 minutes.1) Regarding the baby scallops, the smallest ones that are available from early autumn to early spring (fresh ones are tastier) are the best.2) Use fatty pork belly bacon to make crispy-fried bacon. (You have to choose it carefully as most of the bacon rashers you can find in Japan are made from lean pork leg meat.3 )You can brown the scallops nicely if you dust them with flour. I baked some petit choux puffs for a birthday party, and stuffed them with various fillings. They were a big hit, and everyone said they were "easy to eat!"These taste better if you season the fillings well. Give them plenty of flavor with salt and pepper, herb salt, black pepper and so on. Galicia Octopus and Potatoes Galicia Octopus and Potatoes
I love Spanish cuisine, so I wanted to make something to go with wine. This is the ultimate version with anchovies that I arrived at after many tries. This is a delicious drinking snack. The key to the deliciousness is the anchovies. The garlic really changes the flavor of the dish. Don't worry if you don't have any on hand, though. You can just go for a light Galicia dish instead. I guess if you go the extra mile and add the anchovies, it'll taste like a professional chef made it! Recipe by WorldMama cookpad.japan -
