Wash, peel the skin of the pumpkin and cut it into medium-sized pieces.

Soak tamarind in warm water and extract the juice

Pressure cook pumpkin for 1 whistle. Grind the ingredients to grind into a fine paste.

In a pan add pumpkin pieces, tamarind pulp, turmeric powder, and salt.

Boil for a few minutes till the raw smell goes off.

Add the grinded paste, buttermilk, jaggery and boil for a few minutes, and switch off the flame.

In a pan add oil when it is hot add mustard seeds. When it splutter add red chili, curry leaves, and give thadka to the kuzhambu.

Goes well with hot rice and ghee.
