Egg Salad Sandwiches for Hanami Bento

I wanted to create an easy recipe for this classic sandwich I grew up on.
*"Ha, Egg and Lettuce Sandwich".
When mashing 1 egg or less, it's much easier to use a fork. If doing 2 or more, a knife would be suitable.
You can also use thinly sliced sandwich bread.
Be sure to spread on the margarine first and then the mustard, and only coat one side of each slice.
You can also slice it into 3 pieces. Recipe by Yuuyuu0221

Cooking Instructions

- 2
When it has cooled down slightly, peel off the shell and place the egg in a bowl. Mash with a fork and then add the ● ingredients.
- 3
Spread a thin layer of margarine and mustard onto the bread. Top with the egg mixture.
- 4
Place the other slice of bread on top and press down on it lightly. Cut the crusts off and then slice into 4.
- 5
Transfer to a serving dish.
- 6
If the bread is slightly stale, wrap in a dampened paper towel, and then with cling film, and leave in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
- 7
I recommend using soft bread for this.
- 8
Add lettuce leaves for crunch.

Egg Salad Sandwiches Egg Salad Sandwiches
They sell these sandwiches at a store at our local train station. I wanted to be able to eat as many of them as I like, so I tried making them myself. I like the fact that they're looks so colorful. The foundation of this sandwich is the egg and nanohana. After that, you can add and combination of ham, lettuce, tomato, shrimp or bacon. The sandwiches will have a nicer texture if you chill them in the fridge for a while, as the bread will absorb some of the filling. If you make the sandwiches at night, wrap up in plastic and chill in the refrigerator, then cut them and eat in the morning they will be really moist and delicious. Egg Salad for Sandwiches Egg Salad for Sandwiches
I make this with all the children's hard boiled eggs from the Easter Holiday every year and also sometimes in between when we are just craving it! I am a fan of miracle whip's flavor however, I will use mayonnaise if that's what I have. I also normally use celery seed as I enjoy the flavor of that as well. However, I've been out of that spice lately so I decided to substitute chia seeds and it worked just fine! You can also substitute any onions you have for the green ones. This is great on bread, in wraps, & even on crackers! (*Note: this recipe is written with eggs already hard boiled, if you need to boil them first, you will need to add 10-15 mins to your cook time.) Egg Salad Sandwich with Avocado and Shrimp Egg Salad Sandwich with Avocado and Shrimp
I just love avocado, so I made this sandwich. This is so simple I don't really have any hints, but since avocado discolors, make this just before you want to eat your sandwich. If the avocado is hard and difficult to mash, you can soften it in the microwave. Be sure not to heat it for too long though. The sandwich is also delicious without the shrimp. Recipe by *ai* cookpad.japan -

Egg Salad for Sandwiches in Just One Minute Egg Salad for Sandwiches in Just One Minute
I really felt like eating egg sandwiches, but I didn't feel like boiling the eggs so I decided to cook them the easy way, in the microwave.-Be sure to pierce the film of the egg yolk well, or it will explode. Even so, you may hear popping sounds coming from the microwave, but if you keep it covered with plastic wrap, it will be fine.-Adjust the cooking time to your microwave.-Adjust the seasoning to your liking.
