Subtly Sweet and Fluffy Apple Buns

I created this recipe because I wanted to make a not so sweet but light and delicious bread. I've repeatedly cooked this recipe every year in apple season since then.

Adding brandy, rum, cinnamon, and butter to the apple will also be tasty.
The apple doesn't have to turn translucent. I prefer a dark yellow apple color.
Pears and pineapples instead of apple will be good as well. Recipe by Honey1972

Ingredients

6 servings
  1. 200 gramsBread flour
  2. 1/2 tspSalt
  3. 1 1/2 tbspSugar
  4. 4 gramsDried yeast
  5. 1/2Egg
  6. 100 mlLukewarm water
  7. 2 tbspButter
  8. 1/4Apple
  9. 1 1/2 tbspSugar

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Put the ingredients listed from the bread flour down to the butter in a bread maker, and start the "bread dough" course. Wait until the 1st rising is done.

  2. 2

Meanwhile, cut the apple into 7 mm cubes. Mix with 1/2 of the sugar, and microwave for about 3 minutes until the apple is translucent.

  3. 3

Drain the excess water from the apple, and let it cool.

  4. 4

Grease the muffin pan with oil or butter so that the bread won't stick to it.

  5. 5

Roll out the dough after its 1st rising, sprinkle with the cooled apple and remaining sugar.

  6. 6

Wrap up the apple, and divide into 6 portions.

  7. 7

Place the dough, alternating the cut sides up and down, into the muffin pan. Let them rise (2nd rising) for 30 minutes in a warm place until the dough becomes 1.5 times in size.

  8. 8

Brush with egg (excluded from the ingredients), and bake in the oven for 15 ~ 20 minutes at 180℃ (355℉), then they're done.
