Ingredients

  1. 2 canssardines
  2. Fresh rice noodles
  3. Fried fish cakes
  4. Tomatoes
  5. Cabbage
  6. Onion
  7. Lemongrass

Cooking Instructions

    Place a pot on the stove, add 3 tablespoons of cooking oil and heat it up. Then add minced shallots and garlic, sauté until fragrant, and add the onion and half of the tomatoes. Stir-fry with a little fish sauce to enhance the aroma.

    Next, add 2 cans of sardines and 2 crushed lemongrass stalks along with 3 1/3 cups of water (about 800ml) to the pot and bring to a boil over high heat (you can mash one can of sardines to release more flavor into the broth).

    Add 1/2 teaspoon of MSG, 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of seasoning powder. Stir well until all the seasonings are completely dissolved.

    When the broth boils, add the fried fish cakes and the remaining tomatoes to the pot, then add a little dried chili or ground pepper.

    Blanch the cabbage to serve with the noodles; it's very delicious.
