Tofu & Rice Crackers Vegetarian Hamburger

I saw online that the main ingredient in most rice crackers is non-glutinous rice and wheat flour. I figured the starch content could be use to keep hamburger patties together. So I gave it a go.
I used soy sauce-flavored rice crackers. Any flavor such as salt or curry would be fine, as long as it's not sweet. For adults, perhaps chili pepper flavored rice crackers would also be interesting. Recipe by Burky

Non-Oil Ginger Rice Crackers made with Rice Flour Non-Oil Ginger Rice Crackers made with Rice Flour
I found ginger rice crackers at the snack aisle of a supermarket. I have eaten them before when I received them as a gift, and so when I found them, grabbed them without a second thought. I usually don't buy these, but there was something about the ginger that intrigued me. I wanted to try making it at home, and finally settled on this recipe. If you have difficulty mixing the dough in Step 1, add in a bit of milk while keeping an eye on it. Use the exact amount of baking powder listed. It will become crispy if you add too much. It will slightly harden, but it's ok. Please adjust the baking time according to your oven. 5 Minute Hamburger Rice Bowl! 5 Minute Hamburger Rice Bowl!
I wanted to make hamburgers but realized that I only had 200 g of ground meat in my refrigerator. Plus I didn't have any time. I used the same ingredients to make a rice bowl and the kids exclaimed that it tasted just like a hamburger! Topping it on lettuce makes the texture a bit more interesting, so I highly recommend it!If you make extra, you can spread it on bread the next day to make a "hamburger" lol.・Slowly sweat the onions to release the sweet and delicious flavor, then add the meat. If you cook the meat for too long, it will render too much oil.・I used a sweet Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce for my kids. If you want a spicier flavor, try using Japanese Worcestershire sauce.・After adding the flavoring ingredients, bring it to a boil to cook off the sourness of the ketchup and mix well with the meat. Kids love it, saying, 'It tastes like a hamburger!'The origin of this recipe: I wanted to make hamburgers, but I only had 200g of ground beef in the fridge and no time. I decided to stir-fry the same ingredients and serve them over rice, and the kids loved it, saying, 'It tastes like a hamburger!' Adding shredded lettuce gives it a great texture, so I highly recommend it. Make extra and use it on bread the next day for a hamburger sandwich! mojTranslated from Cookpad Japan
