I love mentaiko French bread. So, I wanted to try to make a regular sliced bread version.

Since the mentaiko already has flavor, you don't need to use any salt or spices. If you do want to add something, add pepper. ♪ The slight bite adds a punch of flavor. You can soften the cream cheese in the microwave. Recipe by Gomamaron

1 sliceSliced bread
1/2sac Mentaiko (spicy salted cod or pollack roe) or tarako (salted cod or pollack roe)
1 tbspMayonnaise / Cream cheese

Steps

Scrape out the insides of the mentaiko out with the back of a kitchen knife. Mix with the mayonnaise. If you use cream cheese, first bring it to room temperature so it is soft.

Cover the slice of bread completely and generously with the step 1 mixture.

Place it on top of a piece of aluminum foil (to prevent burning) and toast in a toaster oven until crispy, about 4~5 minutes. Please adjust accordingly to keep from burning.
