This is the cheese toast I used to eat when I lived in the U.S. I think the original recipe had a pinch of onion and garlic powder on top.

Mix the cheese, mayonnaise, green onion (or parsley or other herbs), and pepper together. Cut the baguette in half lengthwise, then slice.
