Cooking Instructions
- 1
Wrap the tofu with a paper towel, put a weight on top and leave it for 10 minutes to drain the excess water. Once drained, mix well with the miso.
- 2
Cut kabocha squash into 5 mm cubes, and grill until browned on both sides. Cut avocado in half lengthwise, remove the seeds, and slice.
- 3
Spread half of the Step 1 mix into an ovenproof dish, and top with alternating layers of the Step 2 kabocha and avocado. Top with the remaining Step 1 mix and cheese.
- 4
Bake in a toaster oven (1000 W) for 7-8 minutes. It's ready when the cheese has browned.

I wanted to make the most of the cute avocado shape to make a miso-flavored dish that even kids who dislike avocados may enjoy. They like it a lot!I've listed a decent amount of miso because the avocado itself isn't seasoned. When using mozzarella or sliced cheese, make sure not to scatter on top of the edges of the avocado to prevent it from melting and running off. It's even more delicious if you scatter on parmesan cheese. It's a great appetizer to enjoy with wine. For 2 servings. Recipe by Ikumihan cookpad.japan -

I wanted to make something like this.It is better to cut the upper part of the squash barely so that you will have more place to stuff the gratin. By the way, if you make the gratin with the amount of ingredients listed in the recipe, there will be more than enough, so use remaining gratin to make something else. Recipe by ko-zu cookpad.japan -

Making béchamel sauce is so much trouble. So, I mashed up some tofu and used it as a mock-béchamel sauce for this gratin dish. It actually turned out quite nicely. This dish is also nice to have some green onions mixed inside. You can even try pouring the gratin over boiled potatoes.Silken tofu makes the gratin creamy and smooth, while firm tofu makes it more satisfying. I like both! This menu is quite versatile. Please drain the tofu first if the amount of excess water bothers you at the end. Recipe by Mayo cookpad.japan -

Easy & Classic Kabocha Squash Gratin Easy & Classic Kabocha Squash Gratin
This is a recipe I thought of to use up all of the kabocha squashes that I got.I recommend this simple recipe as there's no need to cook the flour or make a white sauce but it still comes out beautifully. It only took me 15 minutes to prepare.Gratin may have a high-calorie image but this recipe uses low-fat milk, chicken tenders and low-calorie margarine so it's a bit healthier than usual. You can fill this gratin with whatever you like but the kabocha squash helps bind everything together and lets you use less flour to keep things simple. For 2 servings.
