I’ve been trying to use up this massive smoked pork shoulder in the fridge. There’s no way I can just eat sandwiches with all of it… or maybe I could. But I opted for a soup this time.

Ingredients

3 Hours
8-10 People
  1. Smoked Pork Shoulder w/ Bone
  2. 2Green Onions
  3. 3Cobs Corn
  4. 1/2 BoxTubular Pasta
  5. 2 Tsp.Dehydrated Cilantro
  6. 1 TspDehydrated Onion
  7. 2 TbsFish Sauce
  8. 4 TbsSoy Sauce
  9. 2 TbsSugar
  10. 2 Tsp.Garlic Powder
  11. 2 Tsp.Onion Powder
  12. Salt & Black Pepper
  13. Chili Flakes
  14. 10 CupsWater (More As Needed)
  15. Lime Juice (To Taste)

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Remove the bone from the pork shoulder. Put everything except the corn and lime juice into a pot along with 10 cups of water and a little extra ham. Cover. Bring to a boil. Uncover and let simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Add water as needed to keep bone covered.

    Remove bone from pot. Extract all of the meat and return to the pot. Discard the bone. Cut the corn off the cobs and add to the pot. Continue to simmer for 1 hour. Stir occasionally, add water as needed and taste. Add pasta during the last 10 minutes.

    Serve. Garnish with green onion. Splash a little lime juice in.
