Mash Fry Daal - Dhaba Style

Ingredients

½ Hour 10 Mins
5-6 People
  1. 1 CupBoiled white lentil Gram (Mash Daal)
  2. 1/2 TspCumin Seeds
  3. 1Black Cardamom
  4. 1Cinnamon Stick
  5. 1Bay Leave
  6. 4-5Cloves
  7. 10-12Black Peppercorn
  8. 1 TBspGinger Garlic Paste
  9. 1Onion Medium Chopped
  10. 2Tomatoes Medium Chopped
  11. 1/2 TspRed Chilli powder (or to taste)
  12. 1/2Garam Masala Powder
  13. 1 TspSalt (or to taste)
  14. 2Green Chillies Chopped
  15. 1 TspCoriander Powder
  16. 1/4 TspCumin Powder
  17. 3Whole Red Chillies
  18. 1 CupWater (or as required)
  19. 2 TBspFresh Coriander Chopped
  20. Tadka
  21. 2-3 TBspOil
  22. 3-4Whole Red Chillies
  23. 1/2 TspCumin Seeds
  24. Ginger Sliced
  25. Fresh Coriander Chopped

Cooking Instructions

½ Hour 10 Mins
  1. 1

    In A Pot, Add Oil, Add Cumin Seeds, Bay Leave, Black Peppercorn, Cinnamon Stick, Clack Cardamom, Cloves and Mix.

    Add Ginger Garlic Paste and Mix well.

  3. 3

    Add onion and fry until its light brown.

  4. 4

    Now Add Green Chillies and fry for a minute.

  5. 5

    Add tomatoes, water cover and cook until tomatoes are Soft.

  6. 6

    Add Red Chilli powder, Garam Masala Powder, Cumin Powder, salt, Coriander Powder & Whole Red Chillies Mix Well and Cook for 2-3 Mins.

    Add Boiled White Lentil gram and Mix Well.

  8. 8

    Add water and Mix Well cover and Cook for 10-15 Mins.

  9. 9

    Add Fresh Coriander and Mix Well and let it simmer for 2 Mins.

  10. 10

    In A Pan, Heat Oil Whole Red Chillies, Cumin Seeds and Fry For 2 Min.

  11. 11

    Turn off the Flame, Add Tadka On Cooked White Lentil Gram and Garnish With Fresh Coriander / Ginger.

  12. 12

    Now Serve.
