Moong Dal

Wash and Soak split moong dal for 3-4 hrs. In a pressure cooker add soaked dal, water, salt and hing. Give 3-4 whistle. Switch off the flame.

Now in a pan add ghee, heat it. Add hing, Jeera, when it splutter, add chopped onion, ginger and garlic. Add whole red chili. Add green chilli also.Cook till onions are translucent.

Next add a pinch of turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chili powder. Cook nicely. Then add chopped tomatoes, and salt. Cover it with lid and cook till tomatoes are cooked properly.

After that add boiled dal to the tomatoes mixture. Mix properly. Let it cook for 1 boil.Now add garam masala and cook for 1-2 min. Switch off the flame.

This dal can be served it rice or roti.
