Foolproof White Sauce

I was taught to use warm milk when learning how to make white sauce in high school. However, it turned out just as good when I just added cold milk to the pan.
After adding the milk, stir constantly.
It's easier to mix if you add it one cup at a time. Recipe by Yuuyuu0221

Homemade White Sauce Homemade White Sauce
I found this recipe in a very old children's recipe book from decades ago. I changed bits and pieces, made the amounts easier to remember and added some stock for flavor.Don't leave the pan even for a second, keep paying attention and don't stop stirring! You don't have to cook the flour in this recipe so it's thankfully really hard to get wrong! You can use this basic sauce as-is on au gratin and doria dishes. Or you can add milk to stretch it out with soup to add it to a variety of dishes. It's freezable too. Recipe by Anchomai cookpad.japan -

Easy White Sauce in the Microwave Easy White Sauce in the Microwave
I was able to easily make this by referring to Ms. Sachiko Murakami's microwavable recipes. The flavor is simple but skim milk powder and vegetable oil turned out to be a hit and it was easy to make! I have used this in other recipes as well and it doesn't affect the flavor. If you're want a stronger and richer flavor, butter is the best. Using vegetable or oilve oil gives it a more simple flavor. It's hard to thicken it though so please refer to Step 5. I think it's best to heat up gradually and cook down till the moisture evaporates. In Step 4, be sure to mix well so that the flour doesn't settle on the bottom. Recipe by maynyan cookpad.japan -

Easy White Sauce in the Microwave Easy White Sauce in the Microwave
I've been making white sauce with this recipe for a long time. It's easy, but the taste is pretty authentic! Perfect for doria (rice casserole) and dishes cooked au gratin.Microwave it without cling film wrapped over it! It may not seem thick enough at first, but once it cools down, the sauce will naturally thicken. The sauce is well seasoned, so adjust the taste with other ingredients!
