Soak chick peas overnight or minimum 6-8 hrs.

Wash them … add water, little salt & pressure cook for 4-5 whistles.

Heat ghee. Add bay leaf, dry red chilli, cloves, cinnamon stick & cumin seeds to it.

Add tomatoes, chilli & ginger to a mixer grinder & make puree.

Add all the spices to ghee & immediately add puree to it … cook for 5 mins on low flame.

Add cooked chick peas & mix well. Cook well.

Then add tamarind pulp & mix well.

Garnish with coriander & serve hot with paratha / puri / naan / kulcha or rice.
