Ingredients

  • 1 litreBanga puree
  • 2 kgfresh fish
  • 2table spoons blended banga soup spices
  • 1 tablespoondry pepper (blended)
  • Halfa small sized onions
  • leafLemon grass
  • 1 teaspoonuziza seed (blended for extra spiciness) add water and sieve
  • cubesMaggi
  • Salt
  • 2 cupsperewinkles (optional)
  • Beletientien leaves (dried and crushed)

Steps

1hr:30min
  1. 1

    Pour the thick banga puree in a pot

  2. 2

    Add the tiny diced onions and add your washed fish

  3. 3

    Add the seasoning and salt and beletientien leaves and cover to cook.

  4. 4

    When the fish is almost done, pour in the banga spices

  5. 5

    Then add the pepper

  6. 6

    Add the sieved uziza seed and lemon grass leaves

  7. 7

    Let the cook until the soup is thick

    If using perewinkles, add at this stage

    Taste for seasoning and cook for extra 5minutes

  10. 10

    Ready
