Nutritious and Slightly Spicy 'Daikon Tomato Beef Rib Soup'
The unexpected combination of black pepper and tomato creates a tangy and spicy soup that's both warming and appetizing.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cut the tomatoes into wedges, beef ribs into pieces, onion into chunks, daikon radish into cubes, and ginger into slices. (Slice the white part of the green onion into rings and cut the green part into sections, set aside for later)
- 2
Heat a pan, add 2 tablespoons of oil, and sauté the ginger slices until fragrant. Add the beef ribs and cooking wine, and stir-fry for a while.
- 3
Once the beef ribs start to change color, push them to one side. Add the daikon radish and onion, stir-fry for a while, then add the tomatoes and stir-fry for 1 minute.
- 4
Transfer all ingredients to a soup pot (set aside the daikon radish for later), and add the small chili pepper.
- 5
Add 4 cups of water (1 liter), then add black pepper and soy sauce. (The floating pieces that look like daikon radish are actually onion) Bring to a boil over medium heat, then simmer on low heat for 1 hour.
- 6
Add the daikon radish and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes.
- 7
Add the white and green parts of the green onion and salt to taste, turn off the heat, and it's done ✅

A Little Spicy! Onion and Daikon Radish Curry Soup A Little Spicy! Onion and Daikon Radish Curry Soup
I made curry soup, which I've been wanting to try for a while with lots of daikon radish.(In the photo the daikon radish have sunk to the bottom... but there's a lot in there!)I think it should be nice with daikon radish leaves or spinach too.If you add 3 teaspoons of curry powder, the soup will be quite spicy, so if you have small children, it might be better to add just 1.5 to 2 teaspoons.Try using ground pork (about 100 g) instead of wiener sausages for a more curry-like soup. Korean Beef and Radish soup Korean Beef and Radish soup
If you’re looking for the perfect soup recipe to try out this Korean Beef and Radish soup is gonna be your new favorite! My husband and I eat this soup whenever we find some good quality Korean radishes at the Asian market. It’s perfectly balanced with meat and vegetables and a little bit of crisp spice from the Serrano peppers. We love to enjoy this soup with some glass noodles, fresh rice and a side of kimchi. We always have some high quality salt and black pepper on the table for whenever we enjoy this soup because the salt amount varies from person to person, for example my in laws prefer their soup less salty but my husband and I prefer more salt.So it’s a good way for each person to customize their own soup. Daikon Radish & Egg in Beef Stock Soup Daikon Radish & Egg in Beef Stock Soup
When I have a lot of time I make a soup from beef bones and large chunks of daikon radish. Daikon radish tastes delicious when combined with beef stock. This soup is really filling and satisfying, since you get spoonfuls of ingredients you can actually chew on.If the heat of the soup is too low when you add the egg, then the egg may disperse and cause your soup to go cloudy, so be careful. Also it's important not to interfere with the soup for a while after you've just added the egg. Once the egg is fluffy and has risen to the surface, then by all means give the mixture a stir. Easy and Healthy Daikon Radish Soup Easy and Healthy Daikon Radish Soup
I wanted to use daikon radish in a soup. I usually cut it into cubes, but I tried julienning it instead, and I was surprised just how much like ramen it looked. I didn't realize how delicious it would be.If you add a generous amount of pepper and oyster sauce, it will taste more like ramen soup.I tend to get chilly, so I add ginger to the soup to warm up.
