Ingredients

10 minutes
3 servings
  • 1 cup Medium thick Poha/ avalakki
    Nagpuri Poha with Tari
  • as neededWater to wash and soak
    Peanut Poha (Shengdana Pohe)
  • 1 tablespoonCooking oil
    Sprouts and Veggies Poha (healthy poha)
  • 1 tspMustard seeds
  • 1 tspCumin seeds
  • 7 to 8Curry leaves
  • 2Chopped green chillies (optional)
  • 1Chopped onion
  • 1/2 cupBoiled green peas
  • 1Finely chopped and streamed carrot
  • 1/4 tspHing/ asafoetida
  • 1 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1/2-1 tspChilli powder
  • As Per TasteSalt
  • 1 tspSugar
  • 1 tablespoonLemon juice
  • 1 tablespoonChopped coriander leaves
  • To Serve
  • As Requiredlemon wedge and homemade yoghurt

Steps

10 minutes
  1. 1

    First, wash and drain the poha well. Keep covered to absorb the water for 5 to 8 minutes.
    Heat oil in a kadhai. Pop in mustard seeds and Cumin seeds. Then add hing, green chilies, and curry leaves and saute well.

  2. 2

    Then fry onion till pink.
    Add in peas and carrots.
    Then mix in turmeric powder, Chilli powder and stir well.

    Add poha, and salt sugar, and mix nicely. Sprinkle 1 tsp water, cover, and cook for 2 minutes.

  4. 4

    Then pack in your kid's lunch box after cooling a little.
    Add a lemon wedge to squeeze on top.
    Pack some Yoghurt for an all-round tiffin.
