Steps

Firstly squeeze the lauki in between your palms to remove the water from it. Do not discard this water. We will use it later while making the gravy.

Add the squeezed lauki to another medium size mixing bowl and add gram flour, salt, and red chili powder mix it well.

Make small lime size balls from the mixture.

Heat vegetable oil for frying the kofta in a pan and the balls on medium-high heat until golden brown.

For curry
- 6
Heat oil in the pan and add cumin seeds and let them crackle for 3-4 seconds. Add chopped ginger, garlic, and paste fry on medium heat for a minute.

Add onion paste and cook until they are nicely browned. Further, add tomato paste and cook for a few minutes.

Add coriander powder, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala powder, and fry for 2-3 minutes. Or until released oil.

Now add 2 cups of water and bring the curry to a boil. Add the kofta and cook for a minute.

Garnish with fresh coriander and Serve hot.
