Mirchi Bonda (In Air Fryer)

It's monsoon season and we are all craving for some hot spicy pakoras.. have you tried these Mirchi Bondas/ Chilli fritters or in my Karnataka, they are called Mensinkayi Bajji! Made from hot peppers stuffed with a spiced potato filling, dipped in chickpea flour batter and deep fried! Enjoy with rains and tea!
Now the twist: Being a nutritionist, I made them in air fryer! They tasted yummy 👌👌#MSR #monsoon #YCR #rainyseason #bonda #bhajji #pakoras #fritters #airfryer #vaishubakes #cookpadindia #spicy #greenchilli #peppers #streetfood #fastfood #teatime #besan #lowoil #lowfat #lowsugar #lowcalorierecipe

Steps
- 1
First, turn on the air fryer to Preheat for 10 minutes. Then combine the mashed potatoes, ginger garlic paste, spices as mentioned as per taste, and 1 tsp lemon juice in a bowl.
- 2
Then add coriander leaves and make into a nice uniform stuffing ball. Make small balls out of it.
- 3
Now fill these into the deseeded, slit chillies and press the two edges together.
- 4
Make a batter from besan, rice flour, salt, cumin and coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, chaat masala, lemon juice and 1 tablespoon hot oil.
- 5
Mix 1/4 cup hot water, and prepare a thick batter. Do not make it thin as we have to fry it in air fryer.
- 6
Now, cut the whole stuffed chillies into smaller pieces with a sharp knife. You can also keep the chillies whole.
- 7
Now place a piece of baking sheet or baking paper on the netted tray of airfryer carefully as it is hot from preheating.
- 8
Place the pieces covered with batter on top arranging well. At a time 3 whole chillies or 6 small pieces can be fried. Drizzle 1 tablespoon oil all over on top.
- 9
Now close the tray in the airfryer. Bake for 20 min, turning upside down after 10 minutes. Check if they are golden brown. If not, bake for 10 minutes more. The bhajji are ready.
- 10
Enjoy with favourite dip and tea on the sides.
