Lauki Ke Parathe

Lauki or bottle gourd as we call it in English is a south asian squash is indeed bottle shaped ,light green and long .The flesh inside is spongy and we can also cut into small pieces and make curry out of it .Bottle gourd is over 90% water therefore it is easy to digest .
It is one of the best vegetable to be taken in summer times .When we add grated lauki to the wheat flour and make paratha it increases the of paratha instead of eating plain paratha.

Steps

Clean the squash /lauki and cucumber /kakadi and grate them with skin and keep it aside.

Take whole wheat flour and besan in a bowl.Add grated squash and cucumber and all the masala ingredients and add very little water as lauki and cucumber has some moisture in it already and mix well to make a perfect dough for paratha.

Take small ball of dough and roll it into thin paratha using rolling pin.Do not make the dough very soft or parathas will not come in a proper way.

Heat tawa and put the paratha on the tawa and sprinkle some oil and roast it both sides well till it turns golden. serve hot with curd or pickle.Perfect breakfast for healthy start of day.
